The symptoms of genital herpes
generally appear 4 to 7 days after a person is first infected. When
a person is infected, they may develop swollen lymph glands, a fever
and other symptoms that resemble having influenza. The symptoms might
come and go have no set pattern that is discernible. Subsequent outbreaks
should become less and less severe but the one thing that remains the
same is that the genital herpes virus stays.
Some people only have a genital
herpes outbreak once a year, while others can have one every few weeks.
Symptoms that a flair up may be coming include itching, tingling, or
a burning sensation in the affected area. A person might also experience
sharp pains in the pelvis or down one of their legs.
With recurrent infections,
women might only experience symptoms such as irritation in the genital
area without no rash appearing. Women who experience a vaginal discharge
or have recurring vaginal symptoms should be tested for genital herpes.
If you find that you have some of the symptoms for genital herpes then
you should see a doctor. Your doctor may suggest a genital herpes virus
treatment such as the products that you can buy at the top of this page.
